Tridel Apologizes for Unauthorized Vulnerability Test on Inq7.net


Tridel Technologies has posted a public apology on Inq7.net’s Infotech section for conducting an unauthorized vulnerability test on their website.


Public Apology


TRIDEL TECHNOLOGIES, INC., through its Board of Directors and Officers, hereby publicly apologizes for the inconvenience that may have been occasioned in unauthorized conduct of “vulnerability test” on the website of INQ7 Interactive, Inc. with address “www.inq7.net” on or about January 26, 2005, without the latter’s consent or authority.


After due consideration, TRIDEL TECHNOLOGIES, INC., through its Board of Directors and Officers, hereby acknowledges and fully accepts responsibility for aforesaid act which the Corporation neither tolerates nor acquiesces to.


As gesture of good faith, this public apology is being issued as part of the Compromise Agreement between INQ7 Interactive, Inc. and Tridel Technologies, Inc. and Mr. Arturo H. Samaniego, Jr. that would cause the withdrawal of the case filed by INQ7 Interactive, Inc. against Tridel Technologies, Inc. and Mr. Arturo H. Samaniego, Jr. entitled “DILG-NPC-PNP-CIDG-Roberto Gantuangco vs. Art Samaniego, et. al.” docketed as I.S. No. 2005-697 for violation of RA 8792 pending preliminary investigation before the Department of Justice, Manila.

This incident involves Arturo Samaniego Jr., IT Manager at Manila Bulletin and local ISP Tridel Technologies Inc., who conducted unauthorized “vulnerability tests” on INQ7 Interactive Inc.’s website on January 26, 2005. This hacking case falls under Republic Act No. 8792, the Philippine Electronic Commerce Act, serving as a warning to those who might be tempted to engage in similar activities.
