Nintendo Zone service at McDonald's: マックでDS (Mac de DS)

I don't think this is available in the Philippines, but Nintendo has an interesting tie up with McDonald's called Mac de DS, which roughly translates to “DS at McDonald's”. It has been around since June of this year, but I discovered this only about a month ago, during a group meeting with classmates. I was pretending to be taking notes on my DSi, but was actually fooling around on the Mac de DS network. Hehe.

At McDonald's you can connect to a free wifi zone on your DS to download various kinds of content. For example, during a certain period, you can download a special Pokemon named Jirachi for Pokemon Platinum, Diamond, or Pearl. You can also download DS demos such as Rhythm Heaven and Picross 3D.

One interesting part of Mac de DS is the McDonald's content, which consists of quizzes, comics, games related to McDonald's food products, and best of all, coupons! Haven't yet quite figured out how that works, but technically you can use your DS to download coupons for use at McDonald's.
