Nihonsei: Working!!

Konnichiwa minna-san! Yet it's another NIHONSEI weekend. Today I'll feature one of the anime series currently airing in Japan this spring.

Working!! is a Japanese four-panel comic strip manga series written and illustrated by Karino Takatsu and was made into an anime that is currently airing in the land of the rising sun.

Souta Takanashi is just any ordinary boy, living an ordinary life. Until one day, he bumped into to a classmate named Popura Taneshima. Popura was scouting for people that can work on their restaurant named Wagnaria. Due to desperation, Popura pleaded to Souta to work there. Due to Souta's weakness to cute little things **cough lolicon cough**, he agreed. Boring story eh? NOT! This is an anime we are talking about and everything is possible in an anime.


Souta works with a very cute loli (Popura) that constantly call him Katanashi instead of Takanashi (Japanese call each other by surname as a sign of respect), an androphobic Mahiru that constantly hits him when they cross paths. A katana wielding Yachiyo that admires the manager Kyouko that only thinks about food every other minute, a chef that smokes during work named Jun that is secretly in love with Yachiyo, a blackmailing assistant chef named Hiroomi and finally a mysterious self proclaiming 16-year old Aoi who ran away from home and is now currently living in the restaurant's attic. Now tell me, is THAT boring to you?

What I like on this series are the one liners that were executed brilliantly. If you had a bad day and you just want to laugh without the need of toilet humor, then this anime is for you.



This anime is scheduled for 13 episodes and will end on June 27,2010
