Stan Lee to Create a Yoshiki (X Japan) Comic Book
X Japan founder Yoshiki will soon be immortalized in a new comic book and animated series by Stan Lee's POW! Entertainment. Speaking at the New York Comic Con, Stan Lee said that he was impressed when he met Yoshiki.
"When I met Yoshiki, I was so impressed with his musical talents and unique creative eye that I knew immediately I wanted to work with him on something special where we could combine both our strengths. Creating a music Super Hero character was the natural evolution of our efforts," said Stan Lee.
The comic series will be based on Yoshiki and his passion for music and dragons. It will be gothic-styled and is planned to be translated into multiple languages. Yoshiki's music will trigger the Super Hero's powers when certain musical notes are played. Yoshiki will also be the one creating the music for the animated series.
"Just like the rest of the world, I have admired Stan Lee and his creations my entire life. Just meeting him was so great and now working with him is one of the most fun and creative experiences I have ever had. To watch his mind at work is amazing and inspiring," said Yoshiki.
It was also mentioned during the panel that Stan Lee makes an appearance in the music video for X Japan's "Born to Be Free."
X Japan has just concluded their first North American tour today at the Roseland Ballroom in New York.
