TurboGrafx-16 Gamebox App Coming to iPhone

SAN MATEO, Calif. – Hudson Entertainment is bringing the TurboGrafx Gamebox application to the iPhone and iPod touch this winter. The app is free to download and comes with one free game, "World Sports Competition." Once users have downloaded the app, they will initially have access to more than 15 games to download at a cost of $3.99 each. Users will be able to try out one game selected by Hudson, per day, for 3 minutes. Game content will be refreshed and new games added frequently to meet user demand.

The original TurboGrafx-16 video game console was developed by Hudson Soft and NEC. It was released to major popularity in Japan in 1987, making its way to North America in 1989. With an 8-bit CPU and dual 16-bit GPU the console was capable of displaying 482 colors at once. TurboGrafx-16 was the first console to have an optional CD module, which allowed for more storage and affordable costs.
