Smart to Launch Smart Evolution LTE Network in the Philippines

Smart Communications, the Philippines' largest mobile network, will be commercially launching their LTE Broadband service soon in the Philippines. To give users the taste of what's to come, they will be having free demo at Boracay this April 21 to 24 2011 near Pats and Bombom (Station 2).

The new service will be branded as Smart Evolution and will offer speeds of up to 50 Megabits Per Second. LTE or Long Term Evolution is the next evolution in the mobile internet field after 3G/HSPA/HSDPA speeds currently being offered by the top 3 telcos in the country.

Globe Telecom has also been testing their own LTE network which will be commercially available this 2011.
