Smart Launches Cheaper and Powerful Netphone

Smart will be releasing an update to their Netphone lineup with the Samsung Galaxy Y. Compared to the original Netphone 701, the new Netphone-branded Galaxy Y is more powerful and cheaper. It packs an Android 2.3, 832Mhz processor (600Mhz on the original Netphone 701), and a 2MP camera. The Netphone 701 retails for P9,900 while the Netphone-branded Galaxy Y is only P5900 on prepaid.

The Galaxy Y will come pre-installed with the Smartnet service. You can reserve the Samsung Galaxy Y Netphone Edition from October 1 to October 14, 2011 here.
