PS4 Japan/Asia Pacific release date possibly around Christmas

According to sources of CoveringTech, Japan and the Asia Pacific region will be getting the PS4 during the last week of December, or sometime near Christmas. The exact launch date will likely be revealed during a Sony Computer Entertainment Japan press conference on September 9th.

No price points have been mentioned yet, though products sold in Japan tend to carry a slightly higher price tag than in the United States. Pricing information will also probably be announced at the press conference.

In Japan, gift-giving to children during Christmas is common despite the Yuletide season not being celebrated as a national holiday. A Christmas time release in the land of the rising sun would therefore be of interest to Sony.
