7 Episodes for Season 7 of Game of Thrones
HBO finally confirmed today that the next season of their highly pirated series Game of Thrones will only have 7 episodes instead of the usual 10.
Hardcore fans were not surprised because David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, Game of Thrones’ showrunners, confirmed that we only have 15 episodes of the show left based on their interview from Deadline.
It’s two more seasons we’re talking about. From pretty close to the beginning, we talked about doing this in 70-75 hours, and that’s what we’ll end up with. Call it 73 for now.HBO also confirmed that the show will start late in summer instead of the usual Spring premiere as reported by Variety.
Now that winter has arrived on ‘Game of Thrones,’ executive producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss felt that the storylines of the next season would be better served by starting production a little later than usual, when the weather is changing,” said Casey Bloys, president, HBO programming. “Instead of the show’s traditional spring debut, we’re moving the debut to summer to accommodate the shooting schedule. With 13-15 hours left, how will they wrap up the whole story? Is it an epic two hour finale against the White Walkers? Man, as much as I wanted to see the ending to this epic saga, I don't want to see this series end.
