Android N is Now Called Android Nougat
With the tradition of naming every version of Android into a confection, The latest version (Version 7.0) that was announced last March 9, 2016 is finally revealed as Android Nougat as the result of the an online survey last month. Details after the jump.
Android Nougat brings new features like an improved notification shade and split-screen multitasking to the mobile OS, while also improving on features like Doze that came with Marshmallow last year. The release also has Daydream, Google's new VR platform, baked in, though it'll only be supported by Daydream-ready handsets running the OS.
Google outlines the schedule on their website and indicates final release in August or September via over-the-air update.
