Necomimi - Brainwave Cat Ears Review

I’ve owned a lot of Ariana Grande-esque cat ears since I was 16, but none of them compare to Neurowear’s Necomimi Brainwave Cat Ears.

My friend generously bought me the Necomimi cat ears as a gift a couple of years back. I haven’t done a review about them, so I thought, “Better late than never, right?”

The cat ears react to your brainwaves, supposedly. They perk up when you’re excited and droop down when you’re sad and/or relaxed.

The four modes.

I tried them on and they seemed to do just that, albeit with a little difficulty.

I’ve heard from a friend that you can completely control the ears’ movements. I haven’t been able to do this myself. They just move randomly. I guess it requires practice?

For the most part, this moving cat ear headband is just an expensive hair accessory. You can wear it during conventions and use it for cosplay. It’s rather good for cosplay. The main ear parts are detachable so you can easily replace them with a different style of ears. They sell a whole bunch of ear designs online. You could also make your own!

The Necomimi uses 4 AAA batteries. To make it work, you wear it like a normal headband and make sure that the forehead sensor sits well on your forehead. Clip the other sensor to your ear and press the on/off switch. Allow the ears to adjust for about 5 minutes, and you’re good to go.
