Pokemon GO Buddy System Found in Source Code

A recent data mining of the latest Pokemon GO update revealed a source code that points to a buddy system that may be implemented in the near future.

According to the source code, you can assign a Pokemon as your buddy and based on the distance you walk, a candy will be awarded to you. This opens up a new way to level up your favorite Pokemon as catching the same Pokemon over and over again is rather tedious. This feature however is still a speculation and may or may not be implemented by Niantic in the future.
