Review: Logan
There was a lot of hype over the internet when Hugh Jackman, the face of Wolverine, finally decided to retire as the most popular character in Fox's X-Men franchise. The Logan movie may have been the swan song for Hugh Jackman because it was the best of them all.
Right off the bat, the movie was Rated R, which in my opinion was a wise move (similar to the success of Deadpool). Mutant having a pissed mood protracting claws definitely scream for Rated R goodness. The movie portrayed Logan very very well. You can feel how tired Logan was, how his life was a mess and how he didn't care about the people around him. Sir Patrick Stewart's performance was magnificent as well, Professor X had seen better days, and you can see it on his face. Dafne Keen as X-23 was a surprise as well, a newcomer to the movie industry, she portrayed X-23 faithfully. The movie perfectly shown the side of their characters as humans and not as mutants. These three had a great chemistry throughout the movie and it was beautiful.
If you expect a superhero movie, Logan is not for you, this movie emphasized on the hardships having the curse of immortality, and how Logan dealt with it.
Overall, this movie is worth watching and I'm giving it 4 out of 5 stars. "Why not give it a perfect score Mister Siopao if you said it was good?" you might say, but I only give a perfect score to a perfect movie. Logan has some bells and whistles in terms of some unclear dialogues and some down times. But hey, compared to previous Wolverine films, this one is the best without a shout of a doubt.
If you love the X-Men franchise, you better watch this movie, because this will be your last goodbye to the rabid Wolverine.
