Converge ICT Solutions to Launch Prepaid and Lower-Priced Internet Packages for Filipino Users
Converge ICT Solutions, Inc. is set to launch new prepaid and middle-class bundles for its fiber internet service for homes in the Philippines. During the groundbreaking ceremony for the Bifrost cable landing system station in Davao City, Converge CEO Dennis Anthony H. Uy emphasized the importance of bringing digital access to all Filipino users, regardless of their economic status.
“Digital access is not just essential anymore, it’s a right already. We need to find a way to bring the low-cost and segmented market to the Filipino users,” Uy said. While he did not disclose the target price ranges for these new packages, the company’s current lowest residential service monthly package costs P1,500.
This move is part of Converge’s efforts to expand its market reach and provide affordable internet access to more Filipinos. With the launch of the prepaid and middle-class bundles, more users can now enjoy high-speed internet connectivity at more affordable rates.
In addition to this, the establishment of the Bifrost CLS landing station in Davao City also opens up opportunities for more investments in the information and technology industry, including digital storage centers. The Bifrost Cable System, which connects Singapore, Indonesia, and the Philippines to the West Coast of North America, is expected to be operational by the third quarter of 2024.
According to Converge COO Jesus C. Romero, the Bifrost Cable System is the first submarine cable that connects Singapore directly to the US. This new system will provide faster and more reliable internet connectivity to users in the Philippines, and will also help attract more investments in the technology industry.
With these developments, Converge ICT Solutions is well-positioned to provide better internet access to more Filipino users and contribute to the growth of the country’s technology industry.
