Warner Bros. Discovery Ceases Discovery+ Service in the Philippines, Focuses on HBO GO
Warner Bros. Discovery has officially announced that the Discovery+ service in the Philippines will cease operations on April 27, 2023. The company made this decision to focus its efforts on the HBO GO service in the country.
This move by Warner Bros. Discovery is not a reflection of the company's interest in ensuring a meaningful presence in the Philippines. The closure of the Discovery+ service will only affect the Philippines and not the service in other markets.
Despite this change, audiences can still watch several popular Discovery titles on linear channels including Discovery, TLC, Asian Food Network, and HGTV. Some of the popular Discovery+ titles include "Drag Race PH," "90 Day Fiancé," "Naked and Afraid," and "Ghost Adventures."
HBO GO, on the other hand, offers several popular titles such as "The Last Of Us," "House of the Dragon," "The White Lotus," and "Succession," among others.
If you're a fan of HBO GO, this is great news as the company will be putting more effort into improving the service. This move will make HBO GO more competitive and improve the viewing experience for its users.
While we understand that this news may come as a disappointment to some, Warner Bros. Discovery wants you to know that it is committed to providing the best possible viewing experience to its audiences.
If you're a discovery+ subscriber, you will be receiving a refund on the remaining days of your subscription. To be eligible, make sure you have a valid and up-to-date payment method. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the discovery+ support team at support@discoveryplus.ph.
