Microsoft commits to delivering best Call of Duty experience across Nintendo platforms

In a recent announcement, Microsoft confirmed that its 10-year commitment to bring the Call of Duty franchise to Nintendo platforms is now legally binding. According to Microsoft Gaming CEO and Xbox boss Phil Spencer, the tech giant aims to deliver the "best version" of Call of Duty possible across each platform, providing the "same" experience in terms of content, which means that exclusive content will not be restricted to a specific platform.

Phil Spencer: "We expect to hit a certain level of quality on all of those games...so that's our goal, and the same thing on PC and the same thing on Nintendo. So when we say available everywhere or not exclusive, we want to make absolutely the best version of Call of Duty on any of those platforms.

"...It's not about a skin on a gun, it's about a certain mode of the game, the same version will be available on all platforms. If you're a Minecraft player on PlayStation I don't think you feel like you have the lesser version...we want to make sure those players feel like they have a great experience on the platform they choose to play on."

It remains unclear how Call of Duty will be delivered on Nintendo platforms, but the deal references "Nintendo platforms," leaving room for speculation. One possibility is that Xbox's cloud gaming services could be used to enable Call of Duty to run on certain devices. However, it's worth noting that the last Call of Duty game released on a Nintendo platform was Call of Duty: Ghosts in 2013.

As the Call of Duty franchise continues to be a major success, this partnership could offer a huge opportunity for Nintendo gamers. With Microsoft committed to providing the best Call of Duty experience across all platforms, we can expect a high-quality game with top-notch features to be made available on Nintendo platforms, providing gamers with an exceptional experience. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting partnership.
