Super Star Trek meets 25th Anniversary: A Love Letter to Classic Gaming

Have you ever played the classic game Super Star Trek? Written by Bob Leedom and David Ahl and published in 1978, it was a strategy game that challenged players to find and destroy the Klingon invasion fleet before time ran out. While the game was fun, it lacked graphics and sound.

Super Star Trek Meets 25th Anniversary is a remake/conversion of the 1978 strategy game Super Star Trek, reimagined with the UI of one of the most beloved Star Trek games of all time: Star Trek 25th Anniversary. The result is a unique experience that allows players to play the strategy game on the main screen of the Enterprise, while issuing commands by interacting with Sulu, Chekov, Spock, Scott, and Uhura.

The game's goal is to find and destroy the Klingon invasion fleet before the time expires. You start in a random sector, and there are 64 sectors divided into an 8x8 grid. Not all of them have enemies. You can use the long-range sensors to see if there are Klingons in the surrounding sectors, and then attack them with either Phasers or Photon torpedoes.

But be careful, if you are hit, the Enterprise can be damaged, and a damaged system can stop working. You need to find a starbase to replenish your energy or repair damaged systems. And don't forget to raise your shields before attacking!

In this game, you will issue commands by interacting with Sulu, Chekov, Spock, Scott, and Uhura. Additionally, the creator added original voices from the TV series to make things even more nostalgic. The game has recently been updated with keybindings, new sounds, and Czech and Catalan translations.

If you want to experience classic gaming at its finest, give Super Star Trek meets 25th Anniversary a try. It's free, it's fun, and it's a love letter to the games of the past.
