MNL48 COLE Joins Quadlips
Are you a fan of AKB48 and its sister groups? If you are, then you're in for a treat with the latest announcement about a brand-new global unit known as "Quadlips." In a groundbreaking move, MNL48's COLE has been confirmed as a member of this exciting project, which aims to take the world of girl groups by storm.
The concept of Quadlips was born in response to the global popularity of AKB48 and its sister groups. These sister groups have been making waves in various Asian cities, starting with JKT48 in Jakarta in 2011. Now, with the world's eyes on girl group expansion, select members from Nagoya (SKE48), Jakarta (JKT48), Bangkok (BNK48), and Manila (MNL48) have been invited to join Quadlips, a trailblazing cross-border unit headquartered in Bangkok.
The official announcement of Quadlips' formation took place on October 29, 2023, during BNK48's "Depart'Cher Cherprang BNK48's Graduation" concert. This marks a significant step towards the group's upcoming activities.
Starting from November 2023, Quadlips will kick off its activities in Bangkok, Thailand. But the excitement doesn't end there. A global debut is scheduled for January 2024, with performances in the hometowns of its members in Nagoya, Jakarta, Bangkok, Manila, and various other locations in Southeast Asia.
Quadlips is part of a new project spearheaded by Superball, a Japanese corporation overseeing AKB48's overseas licensing operations. Superball, with prior experience managing the joint Japanese-Korean global project "IZ*ONE," has plans to engage in a wide range of cultural activities, primarily in Southeast Asia.
If you're a fan of AKB48 and its sister groups, you won't want to miss the exciting journey of Quadlips. Stay tuned for the global debut in January 2024, and keep your eyes on this talented group as they embark on a thrilling adventure across Asia. MNL48 COLE and the other members of Quadlips are ready to take the girl group scene by storm, and we can't wait to see what the future holds for them!
